EMPOWER YOGA 200 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM
- Guide safe and inspirational yoga classes.
- Communicate effectively and speak with confidence in front of a group
- Skillfully teach yoga poses with verbal instruction, hands on assists and physical demonstration
- Sequence yoga classes that are creative, effective and appropriate for the ability and skill level of your students
- Practice meditation and deep breathing pranayama
- Share the roots and history of yoga philosophy
- Understand the basics of anatomy for yoga teachers
- Gain awareness of the subtle energy body by studying the chakras, nadis and prana
- Practice the fundamentals of the business of yoga, learning how to market yourself and create new opportunities to teach
- Deepen your personal understanding of the practice, develop a home practice and take your yoga off your mat and into the world

Five Things to Know Before You Begin Empower Yoga Teacher Training.

Teaching yoga is an amazing experience. Not only does it give you the opportunity to connect and guide your fellow yogis, it also helps you to deepen your own practice as well. If you’re deciding whether or not to enroll in teacher training, here are a few things to know.
Yoga teacher training will help you turn inward.
Think about how far inward you can go during your practice when you do yoga for an hour. Now imagine 200 hours over the course of a few months. Yoga teacher training helps you dive into the yogic path, where peace and flow are vital to reaching levels of bliss. Combined with a dedicated practice, teacher training helps you tune into yourself and learn yogic principles like breathwork, acceptance, vedic philosophies and more.
You’ll learn more than just the poses.
Yoga teacher training covers yoga philosophy, history, anatomy and sequencing along with the poses. Each of these topics is a vital component to becoming a yoga teacher and will serve you on your journey to teach as well as your personal yoga journey. Learning about each aspect of yoga opens you up to all of the healing powers of yoga and helps you understand what the practice is all about.
You’ll start to teach the first weekend.
Empower’s YTT helps you use your voice from the beginning of training. While it may seem daunting, you’ll be surprised at how quickly things flow once you learn the basics of queuing. From here, you’ll start to feel more confident and comfortable as you learn the different poses you want to teach.
You’ll meet like-minded people who enjoy yoga as much as you do.
This may go without saying, but the friends you meet in YTT are friends for life. After spending time together every other weekend for months, the bond becomes extremely deep. Part of YTT is teaching one another and providing feedback. Your yoga training friends will help you on your path while you help them as well throughout this process.
You get to try different kinds of yoga.
In Empower’s teacher training program, you’ll try out different types of yoga like restorative, slow flow and yin to get a sense of which types you enjoy and may want to explore teaching. In addition to power yoga, you’ll get acquainted with new experiences and deepen your practice as you try out new flows.
Yoga teacher training will change your life. Not only will it give you a certificate, but it will give you a sense of peace you hadn’t known previously as well as friendships that will last a lifetime. This experience will guide you towards your center while allowing you to share the gift of yoga with the world.
