YOGA IS A JOURNEY.
Be consistent. Be patient. Be compassionate. With practice, progress is inevitable. Remember that every student in class was new at one time! |
LET GO OF EXPECTATION. LET GO OF COMPARISON.
Give yourself this time to let go of the busy, competitive mind and just be. |

It is safe to practice yoga daily, and this will help build a strong foundation for your practice. Practice 1-2 times a week your body will feel better. Practice 3-4 times a week your life will feel better!
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothing. Layers are a good idea to help the body adjust to temperature changes during and after class.
What do I do with my shoes? Should I wear socks?
Please leave your shoes by the coat rack and avoid walking on the studio floor, so your feet and mats don't get dirty. We recommend taking your socks off so your feet can better grip the yoga mat.
Can I bring my cell phone?
Please turn off your cell phone when you enter the studio. This enhances your yoga experience, allowing you to turn inward for the duration of the class, and is a polite gesture to your fellow yogis.
What classes should I take?
All classes are appropriate for new students in moderate to good physical fitness. We recommend that those new to yoga take 1-2 Empower Gentle Flow-Unheated classes before moving into the Empower Yoga-Infrared Heated classes. This will allow you to move at your own pace and give you time to learn the poses.

Can I get extra help from the teacher?
We definitely recommend experiencing a private lesson and/or workshop. By spending time with an expert teacher, you can learn how to cater the practice to fit your needs and deepen your experience. Take this knowledge into a group class so you can flow with the rest of them!

WHat is Your studio Like?
We use infrared heat, which warms differently than forced air. This means that we don't need to use as high of a temperature to gain the benefits of hot yoga. Our classes feel less like a sauna and more like a warm summer day (92-95 degrees). Empower Yoga studios do not have mirrors. We believe in feeling alignment in poses and that every body is a yoga body.
